About ada-audit-bot
Last updated:
ada-audit-bot is the checker behind ADA Audit, run by E.N. Productions LLC. It tests web pages against automated accessibility rules based on WCAG 2.2 Level AA.
How to recognize it
Every request carries ada-audit-bot in its user agent. Requests that read robots.txt, sitemaps and links send:
ada-audit-bot/0.1 (+https://ada-audit.com/bot; contact@enprods.com)
The browser that runs the test sends a standard Chrome user agent with the same token added at the end, so your site shows it the page your customers see:
Mozilla/5.0 (…) Chrome/… ada-audit-bot/0.1 (+https://ada-audit.com/bot; contact@enprods.com)
When it visits
- A free check — someone entered one page of your site on ada-audit.com and confirmed they own the site or are authorized to have it tested. The bot tests that one page.
- A deeper check — the person signed in and proved they manage the site by adding a DNS TXT record or a meta tag to it. The bot reads your robots.txt and sitemap and may follow links on up to 200 pages to choose up to 9 pages to test, following your robots.txt as it goes.
It does not crawl the web on its own.
What it does
It reads pages with GET requests and runs the rules in a browser. It does not log in, fill in forms, add to carts or check out, and it skips sign-in, account and checkout pages when choosing pages for a deeper check.
If you did not ask for a check
Email contact@enprods.com with your domain. We will look into the request and stop checks of that site. The results of a free check are visible only to the person who ran it, and are deleted after 7 days.
